Our Story
Over twenty years ago, Una and Dermot Brennan set out to create something more than just a hotel. Their vision was a true home away from home — a place where every guest would be welcomed with warmth, comfort, and genuine care. From that dream, Brook Lane Hotel was born.
Una’s love of hospitality runs deep. With a background in nursing, she brought to Brook Lane a natural gift for caring for people, ensuring that every guest feels like family. Dermot, an engineer by trade, provided the technical know-how and vision to transform the old Casey’s Restaurant into what is now Kenmare’s only four-star boutique hotel. Together, their passion and hard work shaped Brook Lane into the much-loved destination it is today.
More than two decades later, Una and Dermot remain at the heart of the hotel, hands-on in its daily running and committed to maintaining the high standards that guests have come to know and love. Their dedication has made Brook Lane synonymous with boutique luxury, personal service, and a genuine family welcome.
The Brennan family’s shared commitment to excellence and care continues to shine through in every detail, creating a hotel experience that is warm, personal, and unforgettable.
Hospitality at Brook Lane truly is a family affair. Their eldest daughter Megan has recently graduated from Shannon College of Hotel Management, bringing international experience and a new generation’s energy to the business. Ethan and Lily, the younger Brennans, can often be spotted helping out and adding their cheerful spirit to the hotel’s atmosphere.
