Food is our passion and we’re proud to have won several awards and received glowing reviews from people including John & Sally McKennas Food Guide 2016, Sawdays 2016, Lucinda O Sullivan Best Places to Eat.
Our guests start their day by enjoying a delicious Brook Lane breakfast - something we’re well known for in these parts. Help yourself to homemade breads, pastries, jams and freshly prepared porridge from our buffet before tucking into one of our freshly cooked breakfasts. Choose from the likes of Eggs Benedict on brioche or Eggs Florentine on Sourdough, Waffle with Confit Duck Leg served with maple orange syrup, or fuel up on our famous Brook Lane traditional Irish breakfast with our award-winning rare breed pork, Sneem black pudding, potato cake and local grilled bacon.
Here at the Brook Lane Hotel and our restaurant, No. 35, we live by our ‘farm-to-fork’ philosophy. We cook with the best of what’s in season around us here in Kenmare, including our own award-winning free range pork and fresh organic eggs from our farm, just a kilometre away. Needless to say, you can be rest assured that all the food is local, fresh and oh so delicious!
Our Own Award-Winning Produce
For the last seven years, the hotel’s owners, Una & Dermot Brennan have been breeding their own free range rare breed Saddleback pigs. Their dedication was rewarded in December 2016, when Dermot was named Champion of Ireland for Best Pork Sausages at the prestigious Fins Goustiers European Championships. Dermot uses his award-winning pork to produce his own chorizo, sausages, pork burgers, hams and dry-cured bacon, all of which feature on the menus at the hotel and our restaurant, No. 35.
"The unique environment where our pigs live gives the meat its distinctive and flavour. We are situated two kilometres from the Atlantic, which gives our pork its unique flavour from the salt coming in off Kenmare Bay." Dermot Brennan, Owner
